Electrosoft Certified as an EDWOSB Firm January 2, 2019

The U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce (USWCC), an approved third-party certifier for the Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) federal contract program, recently notified Electrosoft that its status as an EDWOSB had been certified for another year. Thus, Electrosoft is eligible to compete for those contracts specifically set aside for competition solely among women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) or EDWOSBs. There are 83 North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) codes designated as eligible for federal contracting under the WOSB Program.

The WOSB and EDWOSB programs seek to increase federal contracting opportunities for WOSBs and help federal agencies meet their women-owned small business goals. Certification involves completion of a detailed application form supplemented by submission of supporting documentation. Once the application has been deemed complete and accepted by USWCC, it then undergoes separate comprehensive reviews by a primary and then a secondary examiner. Certification expires after one year and must be reapplied for annually if the firm continues to meet all the eligibility and program requirements.
