On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Sarbari Gupta presented at the Cloud Computing Conference 2019 sponsored by ISACA’s Greater Washington, DC Chapter. Dr. Gupta’s address, “Protect Cloud Data From Prying Eyes,” focused on the importance of protecting the confidentiality of data stored in the cloud. While acknowledging that cryptography remains a critical approach in securing data, she underscored the need to concurrently heighten security surrounding cryptographic keys. Her discussion touched on strategies for using keys within the cloud, key management design choices and major challenges surrounding key management.
