Electrosoft announced today that it has been awarded a recompete task order by the National Institute of Standards and Technology to continue advancing the agency's Digital Identity and Access Management Program, including work to prepare federal identity credentialing for post-quantum cryptography. The Identity and Access Management Technical Resource Development award extends a relationship with NIST that dates back to 2001 and builds on nearly a decade of direct work within the Digital Identity Program itself.

"Federal agencies are being asked to modernize identity and access management faster than ever, while preparing for a post-quantum future. NIST is leading the way in helping them do it," said Dr. Sarbari Gupta, CEO of Electrosoft. “Continuing our support for this program is both a privilege and a responsibility we don't take lightly, especially knowing that our own team members have helped shape the standards NIST relies on today."

Digital identity has become the foundation of every trusted government service. It is the backbone that lets the right person reach the right benefit, system, or piece of data, while keeping fraud, impersonation, and unauthorized access at bay. NIST has led that effort for more than two decades, and Electrosoft's new task order will help turn NIST's guidance into practical resources agencies can put to use.

That work includes implementation resources tied to Special Publication 800-63, updates to strengthen the Personal Identity Verification credentialing program against emerging quantum computing risks, and continued development of NIST's digital identity risk management tools. The team will also support NIST's work in international standards bodies to advance interoperability across federated identity systems.

Delivering this capability sits at the convergence of four compelling forces in federal cybersecurity today: the newly mandated post-quantum migration (EO 14412), the identity-centric Zero Trust movement, the shift to continuous/lifecycle identity governance, and the AI-driven fraud and deepfake threat. By helping advance the NIST standards and tools that let agencies act on these trends, Electrosoft builds on a track record of providing steady, specialized support for one of the federal government's most consequential technology programs.
