Assuring Regulatory Compliance in Select Federal Aviation Administration Programs March 29, 2018

Electrosoft is pleased to announce the award of two task orders supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Under the first, Electrosoft will assess the FAA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card Issuer (PCI) and its facilities (PCIFs) in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-79-1. The assessment will verify compliance with all applicable requirements within the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 201 and related Special Publications. We have performed this triennial assessment three (3) times since 2009.

Under the second task order, Electrosoft will conduct the annual audit of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Registration Authority (RA) processes and operations. An RA, which is part of a PKI, verifies user requests for a digital certificate and signals the Certificate Authority (CA) to issue it. The audit, conducted at FAA headquarters in Washington, D.C., will assess compliance with the practices identified within the Federal Common Policy (CP) Framework and the Symantec (now Digicert) Shared Service Provider (SSP) Certification Practices Statement (CPS).

Assuring compliance with applicable standards is complex, but important, work. Electrosoft possesses significant experience in the compliance arena and is well-equipped to undertake these important assessments.
