Electrosoft to Implement ePACS Solution for Department of Veterans Affairs

Electrosoft Services, Inc. a small business located in Reston, Virginia, is proud to announce that it has been awarded a contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs to implement their Enterprise Physical Access Control System (ePACS).  As an enterprise implementation, ePACS is targeted for deployment across VA’s worldwide facilities.  The solution is based on the SAFE software suite developed by Quantum Secure (QS), the leading provider of physical identity and access management software.  Quantum Secure’s SAFE solution manages and streamlines security identities, compliance and events across disparate physical security systems.

“ePACS integration environments like the VA are ideally suited for small business, because we offer quick and cost effective solutions”, said Dr. Sarbari Gupta, founder and CEO of Electrosoft. “Our company’s long history of providing subject matter expertise in the field of identity management adds maximum value to the VA’s ePACS mission. We take great pride to support the administration’s push of PACS motorization to align with HSPD-12, M-11-11 and FICAM roadmaps.”

“With SAFE, the Department will have real-time knowledge of who is where, why and for how long in all their facilities,” said Ajay Jain, President and CEO at Quantum Secure. “The software also manages compliance with industry and government regulations.”

As an authorized value-added reseller of SAFE, Electrosoft is providing the SAFE product as the key component to the ePACS solution for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Electrosoft CEO speaks about protecting Smart Grid data in the Cloud

Futuristic Smart Grid architectures demand highly available, scalable, consistent and secure computing environments. Hence, cloud computing is a natural fit for smart grid implementations. In order to provide the security and privacy required for smart grid implementations, it is essential to use cryptographic mechanisms within the cloud.

Dr. Sarbari Gupta, President and CEO of Electrosoft, spoke at the 4th Annual IEEE Conference on Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT) held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC between February 24-27, 2013. See conference website (http://ieee-isgt.org/) for more details.

As a part of the panel entitled “Smart Grid and Cloud", Dr. Gupta spoke about special issues and challenges that arise in managing cryptographic keys that protect Smart Grid data in the cloud.

The slides will be available at the conference website http://ieee-isgt.org/.  To view these slides or others on our site, please Click Here.

Electrosoft to Implement Enterprise Physical Access Control System (ePACS) Capability for the Department of Veterans Affairs

Electrosoft Services, Inc. announced today that it is kicking off a Two-Year (one Base and one Option Year) contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to design, implement and maintain an Enterprise Physical Access Control System (ePACS) capability.

The ePACS capability is an innovative technical approach to allow the VA to interconnect and centrally manage (e.g., provision, de-provision IDs for access to buildings, check status of ID badges, etc.) the multitude of standalone Physical Access Control System (PACS) implementations at the various VA facilities within the National Capital Region. Amongst other benefits such as improved security and lowered cost of management, this project will facilitate the VA’s progress in meeting the requirement to upgrade existing PACS to use PIV credentials in accordance with OMB M-11-11 (click http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/memoranda/2011/m11-11.pdf).
