DoD INFORMATION ASSURANCE PROJECT LIST
Human Machine Interface (HMI) Standards development for the DoD Key Management Infrastructure (KMI).
- Provided technical support by developing standards and guidelines for any Human Machine Interface (HMI) used in the KMI CI-2 System.
- Activities included the collection of various requirements for the HMI of a system operating within a DoD environment as well as collection of HMI best-practices followed by the Industry.
- Activities also included a study of the KMI CI-2 functionality to understand all aspects of an HMI that will be needed to implement all CI-2 operations.
DoD Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Human Machine Interface (HMI) Laboratory Development and Demonstration.
- Provided technical support for the Human Machine Interface (HMI) design and prototyping project as part of the KMI Advanced Technology Systems Interoperability Prototyping and Piloting (KATSIPP) program.
- Activities include the development of a CONOPS, web pages to represent the functional threads for all significant KMI operations in Capability Increments 1 and 2, prototypes of KMI functional threads using J2EE architecture using the WebLogic Application Server and RDBMS as well as the development of an architectural guidance documentation related to the HMI prototyping for the KMI Client Workstation.
DoD Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Client Workstation System Design and Prototyping.
- Provided technical support for prototyping various functional components of the CI-2 Client Workstation as part of the KMI Advanced Technology Systems Interoperability Prototyping and Piloting (KATSIPP) program.
- Activities included the development of functional requirements and formal architectural documentation.
- The complex KMI Client Workstation was designed and developed using web-application development technologies using J2EE technologies like EJB/Servlets/JSP, WebLogic and Tomcat application server containers coupled with the usage of cryptographic APIs to manage and operate DoD’s Type 1 cryptographic devices.
End Information Assurance Unit (EIAU) Management Support.
- Provided technical support to the End Information Assurance Unit (EIAU) Management Initiative targeted at achieving Cryptographic Modernization that is being executed in direct response to the IAD thrust focused on Transforming the Information Assurance Network.
- Activities included the development of an EIAU Management CONOP, an EIAU Architecture and migration/integration plans.
- Activities also included providing technical oversight and assisting technical engineering groups involved with EIAU Management initiatives, recommend changes to policy as well as the preparation of technical security reports (e.g., white papers, position papers, and documentation review comments.)
Key Recovery Guidance for DoD Cryptographic Modernization.
- Provided technical support to the DOD Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Architecture Definition and Analysis (KADA) Program.
- Activities include the development of KM Design Guidance document for ECU and system developers, in the area of Key Escrow and Recovery.
- Activities also included participating in the DoD Infrastructure Systems Engineering Working Group (KM Club) meetings, reviewing and analyzing Key Management design guidance documents being developed as well as analyzing Key Escrow and Recovery design areas.
